2024 got off to a thrilling start when Third State called to tell me Pride and Preston Lin was getting a starred review on Kirkus! Number one, I can hardly believe I’m getting reviewed by Kirkus in the first place (without paying for it–an option they offer indie authors), and number two, a starred review? Take me now, Jesus, my work is done here.
If you haven’t worked in the book industry, you’ll notice that’s the audience their reviews are geared for. Hence, a couple quotable quotes and then a sizeable plot summary, to help stores and libraries decide if this will be a good one for the shelves. Fingers crossed they think so!
